Liechtenstein offers a very high quality of life. The services for various life situations as well as the scenic, cultural, and economic opportunities are enormous.
The standard of apartments in Liechtenstein is high. A typical apartment includes a fitted kitchen and washing machine. The gross rent consists of the net rent plus additional costs (heating, hot water, wastewater fees, electricity). It is common to require a deposit (maximum 3 months' rent). This must be deposited in a deposit account or similar before moving in and will be paid back to the tenants upon moving out. The aha tips for young people provide helpful information on apartment searches, contact points, and counseling services as well as answers regarding costs and subsidies.

Apartment Rent
When you rent an apartment, it means you have to pay a certain amount every month. This is called rent.
Usually, a one-time deposit is required at the beginning. This is typically 3 months' rent. It is paid to cover any potential damages. Upon moving out, you get the deposit back unless you have caused damages to the apartment.
In addition to the rent, there are often operating costs and additional charges.
Having a household insurance is advisable.
Rent Contributions
Families and single parents with dependent children have a right to rent contributions. Families must be renting and have had their residence in Liechtenstein for at least one year. Application forms are available at the Office of Social Services and all municipal administrations.
Further information can be obtained from your municipality and the Office of Social Services.
Disposal
Waste in Liechtenstein is subject to fees. For this, waste, bulky items, etc. must be labeled with fee stickers. The fee stickers can be purchased in most grocery stores. Waste and green waste are collected once a week (see waste calendar). It is recommended to place green bins and waste bags at the curb the night before. For detailed information on waste disposal, you can find it on the homepage of each municipality. More information can be found at:

Landfills
Certain types of waste (green waste, no fruit and vegetable waste) are stored in landfills. Details can be found on your municipality's homepage.
In Liechtenstein, tap water has excellent quality. This means that the water from the tap can be consumed in all buildings.
On the one hand, the drinking water consists of spring water. On the other hand, untreated groundwater is also used as drinking water.
